DIY: My Version of Spiked Sneakers

The materials that you need are; thread, needle, glue or E6000, rhinestones of any kind, scissors, spikes, beads, or whatever else you want to attach, and canvas shoes.

I just found these white ones from Wal-Mart.  I looked other places but wasn't really able to find them inexpensively. I thought about using my Vans but I wasn't sure how they would turn out.

I really love the idea of canvas shoes with spikes but I wanted to do something a little differently with them.  I started by putting the spikes in where I wanted.  I chose to use gold screw-on spikes.  I also glued them so they don't loosen.  Then I put some lave over the toe and heel.  after that I just filled in the other areas with rhinestones and pearls.  Some of these I already had and some I bought.  The ones that were sewn on were from bracelets that I have had since high school.  I just cut them apart. The other ones are just from Michael's and Hobby Lobby.  I still need to change the laces out for ribbon.  I think I am going to use pink ribbon but I'm not sure.  I can't wait to wear them but it's been really snowy and rainy lately. I will definitively be featuring them in outfit posts in the near future.

Valentines Day Look

Yesterday Was Valentines Day.  My boyfriend and I decided to have a pretty casual day, since I had to work.  We just went to lunch at Red Lobster (I'm obsessed with seafood).  I also made him a heart-shaped pizza, since pizza is his favorite food.  I chose to wear this heart crop-top from Macy's, my floral bodycon skit from Target, my grey tights from Topshop, and my new heart-shaped sunnies from Charolette Russe.  My bracelets are mostly made by me, with exception of the watch and the bangle by Vera Wang. My spiked headband was also my own design.  My oxford shoes are from T.J. Maxx. Can't forget my new squirrel necklace that I made, since I <3 squirrels.  I also made the heart key necklace.

Quick Pic in the Woods

I found this burnout top at a thrift store in a town near my hometown.  I love it because it has a very intricate pattern on it.  I studded the collar.  My shoes and leggings are from Wet Seal.  My headband and bodycon skirt are designed by me.  My sweater, I found at Salvation Army. My sunglasses are from Charolette Russe.  I love the style of them because they have thick frames.  They are one of my favorite pair.  Last Christmas I went to Florida and accidentally wore them in the ocean and lost them from a wave.  I immediately went and bought another pair.  So, these are sunnies 2.0.

Sunny Day, Let's Play

I was super excited when I found this top because I have had the skirt for a while and they go perfectly together.  The black lines down the front line up and they are both chiffon.  I love the way this outfit feels because it's light and airy.  Today was sunny and nice and wearing it was perfect.  My oxford shoes are from H&M, my tights are from Target, and my earrings are from Forever 21. My sunglasses just came in the mail from Asos.  I love the little stars on the sides.  My blouse is LC Lauren Conrad and my skirt is Johnathan Saunders.  My satchel is from Target.  I cannot even express how happy I was when I got this bag.  I have wanted the sea foam green one since it came in and then all of the Targets around me ran out of them.  Then I got a sea foam green coat so I decided not to continue looking for it anymore.  Then I found this color for $12!!! I jumped up and down like a girl in a candy store.

Navy and Patterns

I wore this outfit to work.  I just got the navy tank top and I was really excited to wear it because of the cute bow-type-collar.  It's made by One Clothing.  My skirt is Kirna Zabete for Target.  The wedge boots are from Target also.  The earrings are Forever21, and the cardigan is Heritage.  I don't remember where the tights are from but you can find that pattern just about anywhere that sells tights.

Just a Little Bit of Joy

Just this last week I was notified on my Etsy account from Talulah Blue, the British burlesque dancer from Britian's Got Talent, that she included one of my items in a post on her website.  It's the rabbit necklace in this picture with the purple blouse.  I just wanted to share my little bit of excitement.
