I think back about this trip too often.  Although it wasn't far from where I live, it was much better than I expected.  I went with my family last summer up the coast of Lake Michigan, up to Mackinac Island.  The Great Lakes are a much under-appreciated part of the United States.  The island is beaut-i-ful! It is such a cute little island.  In the summer there are flowers EVERYWHERE, and I LOVE flowers.  The beaches are white and rocky, but they remind me of something I could see in some exotic location somewhere.  We also stopped in some towns along the way, saw some lighthouses (went in one), went to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, saw a shipwreck, and did lots of shopping.  If you get a chance to take this trip, DO IT!

Spiky Leather Look

Welcome to one of my favorite buildings.  I'm wearing my new fake leather skirt from Forever 21.  My tights are actually from Wal-Mart.  They aren't meant to spiral but it is really easy to get that look.  You just half-way put them on and twist each leg equal amounts before putting them all the way on.  I like the spiral effect that it gives striped tights.  My top is also from Forever 21, but I added the gold spikes myself.  My bracelets are LC Lauren Conrad and APT 9, and my shoes are from H&M.  Oh yeah, and this little squirrel says hi.

Black, Bright, and Blue

Most of this outfit is from Forever21.  My top, which I am in love with, my shorts, and my sunglasses.  My lace tights are from Urban Outfitters.  My mouse jelly flats are from the dollar store.  They are one of my favorite pairs of shoes because they magically fit perfectly, and are adorable.  The stone necklace is vintage and the cameo is my own creation.

Pearl By Georgina Chapman of Marchesa Dress-Up Session

Today I went to JC Penny to try on some of the new Pearl dresses that came out not too long ago.  I was really excited when I heard about this collection because Marchesa is my absolute favorite designer brand.  The dresses are inexpensive, compared to normal Marchesa dresses, and still have many of the same aspects.  I don't have any occasions to wear one of these dresses to so I didn't buy one, but they are very pretty.  I was actually really surprised at how many of them are still left in the store. I will probably go back in a few weeks when they are marked down and buy one.  Some of them are already marked down but I was unable to find my size. My impression of these dresses was about what I expected.  They are beautiful and intricate.

Easter Dress

Just laying in the sunny grass, happy it's finally warm!

This was my first Easter that I didn't spend with family. It was one of my better Easters since I got to do what I want and hang out with my boyfriend.  I made cupcakes, cheesecake, feasted on candy and Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes (I discovered my love for them), dyed eggs, and went to the park. The weather was sunny and warm.  I chose to wear this dress since it is very springy and floral.  I have had it for a little while but couldn't find the right occasion to wear it.  I love everything about it. I chose to style it with my "A" necklace and a bunny necklace that I made from a charm that my sister got off of a chocolate rabbit. :)  I also wore woven white and gold flats, and wrapped a gold belt around my waist. Don't mind the bit of fraying on the belt, I have worn it many times.

Floral Blazer and Laser-cut Ruffles

Yesterday I went for a little walk and I was really glad to see that tulips are starting to pop out of the ground.  I never realized how cut they are at this stage.  I wore one of my favorite blazers.  It's LC Lauren Conrad, like many of my clothing items.  I really like most of her designs because they are so cute.  They are very much "my style."  Although, I dislike that they are sold at Kohl's.  I am also wearing my new Naturalizer boots.  I love my top underneath my blazer because of the ruffles with the laser-cut detailing.  Plus, it's one of my favorite colors.  My earrings are from Forever21, along with my jeans.
